Samuel P. Giacona, Esq.

Mr. Giacona has been in private practice for over 35 years, and has extensive experience in the area of Real Property Law. He maintains a diverse transactional practice focused on the acquisition, development, and preservation of real property in the Central New York area, while also attending to residential and commercial leasing matters, the representation of lenders and borrowers in real estate transactions, loan workouts and foreclosures, as well as architectural and construction agreements. His practice also includes the acquisition and sale of residential and other real estate properties, as well as providing ongoing general corporate and estate planning advice to individuals and closely-held businesses.

Mr. Giacona has also diligently focused his practice in the areas of Matrimonial and Family Law, handling divorces involving maintenance claims, child custody and parenting disputes, relocation applications, and property distribution. As a private practitioner, he prides himself in his ability to provide personalized attention to clients, setting himself apart from larger firms.

In addition to his private practice, Mr. Giacona has passionately represented the County in child abuse and neglect cases as a part-time Cayuga County Attorney for over 30 years. Mr. Giacona is grateful for the privilege of serving the public in this role, and is also appreciative for the unique perspective that this position has provided him in other areas of his practice.

Linda Buckley

Linda Buckley has been a paralegal for over 30 years and has been with Giacona Law, P.C. since 2013.  She assists Sam Giacona in the purchase and sale of commercial and residential real estate properties, evictions, family law, office administration, estate planning, uncontested divorces and vehicle and traffic.

In the past 30 years  Linda worked as a real estate paralegal for both the Rochester and Syracuse office of Saperston & Day, P.C. , and the Law Firm of Cooper Rose & English in Summit, New Jersey wherein she handled real estate transactions, including correspondence with clients, realtors, brokers and attorneys, while also preparing all necessary documentation and review of title documents.  Prior to joining our office Linda worked as a real estate paralegal for Peter L. Elliott, Esq. who specialized in foreclosure sales, the sale of bank owned properties (REO’s) and residential real estate transactions.

Linda is an alumna of St. John Fisher College in Rochester where she graduated with a B.S. in Business Management (1985) and Cayuga Community College where she graduated with an A.S. in Business Administration (1983).

Joy Dunbar

Joy Dunbar joined Giacona Law, P.C. in 2019 as a legal assistant with ten years of administrative experience in various fields. She assists Sam with multiple case types, including real estate sales, family law, traffic matters, estate planning and landlord-tenant issues.

Joy is an alumna of Fairhaven Baptist College in Indiana where she graduated with a B.S. in Elementary Education (2010) and previously used this education to organize and administrate a non-profit elementary school in the Philippines. A native of Auburn, Joy enjoys traveling abroad, but always returns to the Finger Lakes region that is home.
